This guided walk on Isolation Trail near Puerto Varas follows the south-western face of Osorno Volcano and finishes with a visit to Petrohue Falls

1Overview
Overview

The El Solitario Trail traverses the southwestern face of the Osorno Volcano through a forest of coigüe and other trees endemic to southern Chile. The route is covered with ash from the Calbuco Volcano, and at one point along the trail, the forest crosses the dry bed of an old river that was once a primary lava flow of Osorno Volcano, which last erupted in 1834. When the trail ends, visit Saltos del Petrohué River to see the rapids formed after one of the volcano’s eruptions. Your Isolation Trail and Petrohue Falls experience includes 6 kilometres walking on an easy trail led by your experienced guide.
