Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Your journey begins on arrival into Puerto Montt, where your private host will meet you. After settling in to your beautiful accommodation, your host will brie you on your personal itinerary for the days ahead and make any revisions to suit your preferences or the conditions. This afternoon enjoy the resort’s facilities and, time permitting, you may like to enjoy a bike ride or kayak this afternoon. Dinner is at the excellent onsite restaurant with views of Lago Todos los Santos.

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast, set off with your private guide for today’s adventure – hiking Osorno Volcano. This moderately challenging day hike is located in the northern sector of Vincente Perez Rosales National Park and leads you to the summit and glaciers of Osorno Volcano. You’ll discover the volcanic processes and years of glaciation that have sculpted the unique geography of this part of the Southern Andes. Following the 13 kilometre Desolation Trail, you’ll arrive at the summit to panoramic views of the basin and surrounding volcanos. Following the trail down to the shore of Lago Todos los Santos near Petrohue River, you will finish your hike and return to the hotel by mid-afternoon. Consider a spa treatment to ease any tight muscles, or perhaps relax by the lake with views to Osorno Volcano and the summit you just climbed. A wonderful dinner at Hotel AWA completes your day.

Day 3

Wake to views of the lake, and contemplate the adventure ahead over breakfast. Meet your host for today’s journey to Petrohué Falls, where you'll be led through a native forest of coigüe and other endemic species as you make your way to the falls. There are shorter and longer options this morning, the latter following a trail that crosses an old lava flow from Osorno Volcano, adding a full-circle moment linking back to your hike on day two. On arrival at Saltos del Petrohué River view the powerful rapids which formed after one of the volcano’s eruptions. Today's journey ends with a private boat ride on Lake Todos los
Santos, drifting by native forests and the Osorno, Puntiagudo and Tronador Volcanoes. Return to your accommodation to freshen up before a pre-dinner drink and dinner and view the lake shimmering under the night sky as you dine.

Day 4

After a leisurely breakfast, you may wish to enjoy a gentle paddle on the lake or river, or perhaps a leisurely lakeside walk. Your Lakes District journey ends with a private transfer to Puerto Montt.
