New Zealand, North Island
Overview
You'll find plenty to fall in love with on New Zealand’s North Island. Waiheke Island, Hawke’s Bay and the Bay of Islands are our favourite North Island coastal playgrounds, where luxury lodges easily combine with sailing adventures, coastal walks and premium wineries. The spectacular Huka Falls near Taupo is New Zealand’s most visited attraction, with nearby Huka Lodge a destination in itself. Perched on the Waikato River in the country’s bubbling geothermal region, we recommend including a biking adventure or guided walk while here; the Great Lakes trail and Tongariro Alpine Crossing are recommended, with the latter considered one of New Zealand’s best day hikes. Auckland or Wellington will be your gateway to the North Island, so be sure to take a day or two to enjoy the vibrant waterfront and foodie scene of your chosen city. We hope you’re inspired by our collection of New Zealand private journeys, luxury lodges and walks. If we can plan a personalised journey for you, please contact us.

New Zealand's North Island is a special place for our team. We've lived there and travelled the Island by boat and on foot. Waiheke Island, Taupo and the Bay of Islands are our top picks.
