The weather in New Zealand's North Island is sub-tropical.

The warmest months on the North Island of New Zealand are December, January and February, and the coldest months are June, July and August.

In summer, you can expect temperatures between 15 – 24 degrees Celsius and in winter between 8 – 15 degrees Celsius on average. There are pockets of the North Island that do get colder and enjoy snow, such as the Tongariro National Park and Ruapehu.
