There is also the opportunity to travel to neighbouring Schouten Island by boat, and options to swim, snorkel and go fishing when not discovering the coastline on foot. Guests stay in a sustainable eco-lodge sensitively set in the natural landscape and located just 100 metres from Friendly Beaches. This special four day experience is so much more than a walk.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

After a morning transfer from Hobart, your walk begins with a boat cruise down the western length of the Freycinet Peninsula to Schouten Island to the southernmost tip of the National Park. Enjoy dolphin spotting and a picnic lunch and swim on arrival. Next its time for to summit Bear Hill for expansive views of the Freycinet Peninsula, or if you prefer, a fish for flathead in Schouten Passage. Tonight enjoy fresh fish and Tasmanian wine with new friends at Friendly Beaches Lodge.

Day 2

Today starts with a boat transfer down the Peninsula, where two walk options await. The first takes in Bryan's Beach and journeys along the coast to renowned Wineglass Bay. For those seeking a challenge, opt for the climb from Cook’s Beach to the top of Mt Graham where you’ll enjoy wonderful views of The Hazards’ dusky pink rock outcrops, before descending to Wineglass Bay via spectacular Quartzite Ridge. This afternoon there is time to swim in the crystalline waters of Wineglass Bay and enjoy a cup of tea. Later the group climbs to Wineglass Bay Lookout for sublime views, before returning to the Lodge for showers, drinks and dinner.

Day 3

Today you'll explore the fascinating geology of White Water Wall and little Bluestone Bay before enjoying views from the clifftops. Guests then follow an ancient trail through sacred bushland once followed by the Oyster Bay Tribe back to the Lodge. Enjoy a swim at Friendly Beaches before afternoon tea and a relaxing evening of food and wine.

Day 4

Enjoy a final walk this morning along the fossil-rich ridgeline of Mt Mary before descending to Saltwater Lagoon to view the plentiful birdlife. After a delightful brunch, take a final stroll along Friendly Beaches to Isaac’s Point in time for your transfer back to Hobart arriving around 5pm.
