The award-winning Maria Island Walk on the East Coast of Tasmania combines 4 days of walking through a world-heritage listed national park with comfortable eco accommodation and Tasmanian food and wine. Rare wildlife, beautiful scenery and an interesting history add to the experience, with your walk shared with a small group of only 10 guests with two professional guides. The beaches on Maria Island are pristine and plentiful, so an afternoon dip is a popular option, and a typical day ends with a three-course meal under the stars with Tasmanian wines.

Day 3

Known by guests as ‘mountain day’, guided hikes to the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk are a highlight of the Maria Island Walk. After breakfast, your guides will lead you inland to the rich green forests that house the world’s largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums. Walking can range from 9 to 17 km today, with guests able to choose whether to climb Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk. If you have the stamina, we highly recommend the latter with a 700 metre ascent through rare cloud rainforests a highlight of the summit walk. The views from the top are just reward for your effort. This evening arrive into the World Heritage listed settlement of Darlington and enjoy a final evening of food and wine at historic Bernacchi House.
