Known by guests as ‘mountain day’, guided hikes to the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk are a highlight of the Maria Island Walk. After breakfast, your guides will lead you inland to the rich green forests that house the world’s largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums. Walking can range from 9 to 17 km today, with guests able to choose whether to climb Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk. If you have the stamina, we highly recommend the latter with a 700 metre ascent through rare cloud rainforests a highlight of the summit walk. The views from the top are just reward for your effort.
