      Day 2 - Monday

Today is yours to acclimatise and explore Hobart at your leisure. Enjoy a stroll along Franklin Wharf to Salamanca and Battery Point where you'll find an array of quaint coffee shops, cosy bars and artisan stores housed in beautiful heritage buildings. If you're keen to visit the renowned Mona (Museum of Old and New Art), your Journey Designer can pre-book your entry tickets and assist with arranging transfers. A popular choice is to travel by private car in one direction and by ferry in the other to enjoy the view from the water (we recommend the Posh Pit premium option to enjoy bubbles with your cruise). Alternatively, if you'd prefer to see more of Tasmania's World Heritage-listed natural beauty today, select one of our Gordon River day trips. Choose from a five-hour river cruise aboard Spirit of the Wild, including a chef-prepared lunch and open bar or a gourmet picnic by Sir John Falls. Both options include return private seaplane transfers from Hobart and will have you back in time to enjoy another wonderful dinner on the waterfront.

      Day 3 - Tuesday

After breakfast at MACq01, your private guide will whisk you from Hobart to the spectacular landscape of the Tasman Peninsula. Start with a scenic drive from Hobart across the isthmus at Eaglehawk Neck, a site with historical significance, before entering Tasman National Park. Here you will enjoy a 14-kilometre (8.7-mile) hike to Cape Raoul, one of Tasmania's most scenic coastal hikes and part of the famous Three Capes Track. Your private guided walk begins with a gentle climb through a native eucalypt forest, with the bush soon opening to a wonderful view of the Tasman Peninsula's impressive dolerite cliffs. Following a descent to the Cape Raoul lookout, listen out for local seals or watch dolphins frolic way down below. On a clear day, it's an ideal spot for lunch as you take in the awe-inspiring landscape, but if the weather isn’t so kind or it's too windy, a more sheltered location will be sought. The return walk is equally special with its varied perspectives and plenty of chances for scenic photo stops along the way. Toast your day with a visit to a boutique family-run winery on your drive back to Hobart. This region, like much of Tasmania, is known for its premium cool climate wines. If you'd prefer a shorter walk today, we can tailor the day to suit your interests (additional costs may apply).

      Day 4 - Wednesday

It's time to farewell Hobart for now. Your private guide-driver will collect you from your accommodation in the morning for the drive to Lake St Clair. On arrival, enjoy a scenic short cruise across the lake to Echo Point, where you'll disembark at a remote jetty landing on an alpine lakeside trail. From here take in the silence and pristine surroundings before starting your guided walk on a section of the renowned Overland Track following the shore of Lake St Clair to Cynthia Bay (approximately 10 km or 6.5 miles). Your guide will then escort you to Pumphouse Point, where you'll enjoy a glass of bubbles as you take in the wonderful lake views. Your first evening at Pumphouse will begin with pre-dinner drinks in the lounge warmed by the fire, before a share-style three-course dinner in the Shorehouse overlooking the lake. Your room is nestled in the unique Pumphouse building, perched on stilts above the lake. You'll love falling asleep to the sound of the water gently lapping outside.

This peaceful start to the day will set the tone for your guided walk today, which is a 14km circuit taking in Shadow Lake and some of the best wilderness trails of the southern end of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. After a locally sourced trail lunch, return to the lodge and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. If the weather's nice, pack some artisan treats from your in-room larder and set off for afternoon tea and a paddle on the lake, or perhaps an e-bike ride through the forest. Later, unwind by the fire in one of the many lodge lounges with a drink from the honesty bar. Tonight's long table Shorehouse dinner is another chance to meet fellow lodge guests.
