Walk the Perito Moreno 'balconies' footpaths or hike on the ice at Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina's Glaciers National Park

1Overview
Overview

Perito Moreno Glacier is a highlight of any visit to El Calafate and the Los Glaciares National Park (Glaciers National Park). There are a few options for exploring Perito Moreno Glacier on foot, including on walkways with views to the glacier, or on the glacier itself. The Balconies walk at Perito Moreno Glacier refers to the walkways (catwalks) which are divided into three main circuits – the Central balconies (600 metres), the Lower balcony (1100 metres) and the Coast-Northern balcony (1117 metres). You can easily enjoy 1-2 hours of walking here, taking in the view of Perito Moreno from different sides. If you prefer a more challenging and unique experience, a Glacier hike on Perito Moreno is recommended. Choose between the ‘little ice’ mini-trek and the ‘big ice’ Perito Moreno glacier hike. Both of these experiences require you to wear crampons to walk on the ice.

Private transfers from your accommodation, National Park entry fees and crampons (if required) are included with your Perito Moreno hiking experience.
