Day 1

Start your journey with a private charter flight from Darwin taking in coastal and wetland views as you make your way to Bamurru Plains, one of the Luxury Lodges of Australia. Upon arrival into 300 square kilometres of floodplains and savanna woodlands of the Mary River, your classic Australian bush experience begins with a peaceful river cruise through part of the Mary River wetland system to spot crocodiles and prolific bird life in this pristine mangrove-lined river environment. As the sun sets, enjoy canapes and sundowners onboard.

Dinner is a three course affair enjoyed with fellow guests and hosted by one of Bamurru's field guides, and is an opportunity to exchange the day's stories. Bamurru’s chefs use native and locally sourced produce to provide a contemporary Australian menu before your first night falling asleep to the sounds of the bush in your luxury safari tent.

Day 2

Breakfast is a wholesome affair, with freshly baked wattleseed muffins and sourdough, home-made muesli and 'bush eggs' any style, among the menu choices. Relax in the dining room or on the deck with a coffee to start your day right.

A morning airboat safari on the floodplain wetlands of the Mary River catchment is a uniquely thrilling experience. The wetlands are home to thousands of Magpie Geese, Plumed Whistling-Duck, Ibis, Egrets and a host of other bird-life, which will take flight as you zip across the floodplains barely skimming the surface of the water. There's also a chance to slow down and spot crocodiles while you learn from your Bamurru guide about the beautiful plant-life covering the wetlands.

After an enjoyable lunch with a glass of wine back at the lodge, travel across the Bamurru Plains property in a safari vehicles with raised seating providing the best possible vantage point for spotting native wallabies, estuarine crocodiles, wild horses, buffalo’s and some of the hundreds of bird species that call Bamurru home.

You can look forward to another locally sourced dinner from crispy barramundi with finger lime salsa to quandong ice-cream. A self-serve bar is open to enjoy throughout the evening.

Day 3

Relax in the dining room or on the deck with a coffee and breakfast to set you up for another adventurous day.

This full day excursion from Bamurru Plains commences with a scenic flight over Mary River wetlands and World-Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park. Highlights of your big day out in Kakadu include a Guluyambi Cruise spotting wildlife including crocodiles, and Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr. After a short walk to the top of Ubirr take in the 360 degree views over Arnhem Land and Nadab floodplain. You'll enjoy lunch and drinks, and time at Bowali Visitors Center, before returning by road transfer to Bamurru late this afternoon.

After your daily adventures, the pool is the spot to relax and view the local wildlife as it roams the countryside in the afternoon sun before another delectable dinner.

Day 4

Enjoy your final breakfast feast on the deck before some down time prior to returning to Darwin. The pool is the ideal spot to watch the wildlife roam this morning before saying farewell to the Bamurru team.
