    Location & Access

    This private journey begins in Bergen and ends at Leknes on the Lofoten Islands. The internal flight from Alesund to Lofoten Islands is included in your journey.

    Bergen is accessible by direct flight to Oslo (approximately 1 hour), as well as other major cities in Norway, and Leknes by direct flight to Bodø, with onward connections to other major cities in Norway. Your Journey Designer will assist with pre- or post-journey flight and accommodation as needed.

    Day-by-Day Itinerary

    Day 1

    Upon arrival in Bergen, you’ll be met for a private transfer to Opus XVI, a boutique hotel in the heart of the city where you’ll stay for the next two nights. Spend a relaxed afternoon exploring Bergen on foot, with the UNESCO World Heritage-listed harbour, Bryggen, just moments from your doorstep. This evening, we recommend dining at the renowned Frescohallen at Bergen Børs, located just across the street.

    Day 2

    After a buffet breakfast at Opus XVI, meet your private guide for a scenic walking tour of two of Bergen’s iconic peaks - Mount Fløyen and Mount Rundemanen. Begin with a ride on the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen, where panoramic views over Bergen await. From here, walk by the idyllic Skomakerdiket Lake and continue on to Mount Rundemanen. Enjoy lunch at the Fløyen café before descending on foot or taking the funicular back down. This evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner at the hotel or opt for a memorable seafood experience at Cornelius, a renowned restaurant on its own private island.

    Day 3

    This morning after breakfast, make your way to Bergen Station for a scenic rail journey to Flåm. Travel first to Myrdal before boarding the iconic Flåmsbana, one of the world’s most beautiful train rides, descending from the high mountains to the Aurlandsfjord past waterfalls, steep valleys, and remote farms. On arrival in Flåm, meet your private guide for a transfer via the panoramic Stegastein viewpoint to your next stay, 292 Aurland. This afternoon, enjoy a half-day guided hike in the Aurlandsdalen Valley - one of Norway’s finest hikes - featuring swinging bridges, waterfalls, and sweeping views down to the fjord. A packed lunch will be enjoyed on the trail, and this evening, return to the hotel for a three-course dinner crafted with local produce.

    Day 4

    After a hearty buffet breakfast, meet your private guide and journey to the quiet village of Bakka on the Nærøyfjord. Here, board a traditional rowing boat for a peaceful crossing before hiking a section of the historic Royal Postal Route - the former mail trail between remote fjord-side villages - towards Styvi. Enjoy a packed lunch en route before boarding an electric ferry for a scenic cruise through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, famed for its steep cliffs and glassy waters. Your cruise ends in Aurland, where you’ll return to the hotel to relax with a wood-fired hot tub or sauna session, followed by cake and coffee in the lounge and a three-course dinner.

    Day 5

    After breakfast and check-out, enjoy a scenic private transfer to your next hotel on the Øye fjord. This five-hour journey takes you through charming villages, over dramatic mountain passes, and through the world’s longest tunnel (24 km), with highlights including a ferry crossing on the majestic Sognefjord and a stop at Bøyabreen Glacier, where you’ll pause for lunch amid spectacular glacial scenery. Arrive at the historic Union Øye Hotel for a pre-dinner drink in the art deco bar, before enjoying your evening meal at the hotel’s elegant Conservatory restaurant.

    After a generous breakfast in the Conservatory, meet your private guide for a tailored walk in the world-renowned Sunnmøre Alps, with the route adapted to suit your experience and the day’s conditions. A favourite option is the hike to the Bentebu hut on Mount Urkeegga, offering sweeping views over the surrounding fjords and peaks. Enjoy lunch and snacks along the trail before returning to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon in the fjordside sauna, perhaps followed by a refreshing plunge in the fjord for a classic contrast therapy experience. This evening, settle in by the fire as dinner is served in the Conservatory.

    After breakfast and check-out, meet your local guide for a memorable journey through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord. Following a transfer to Hellsylt, you’ll board a one-hour ferry cruise to the village of Geiranger, taking in panoramic views of Norway’s most celebrated fjord along the way. Your guide will suggest the best lunch options in Geiranger before continuing with a scenic drive to your next stay at Juvet Landscape Hotel. Tucked away in the remote wilderness of Valldal, this architectural gem offers glass-walled rooms that invite the outdoors in. This evening, enjoy a seasonal three-course Norwegian dinner at the hotel’s warm and rustic restaurant, The Barn.

    Day 8

    Start your day with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast at The Barn, before meeting your private guide for a scenic hike in the Sunnmøre Alps, with panoramic views over the tranquil Tafjord - a quieter alternative to nearby Geirangerfjord. Depending on the day’s weather and your preferences, your guide will lead you to the Rugga or Mefjellet viewpoint, with lunch enjoyed on the trail. Return to Juvet Landscape Hotel for a restful afternoon in the Bath House, featuring a sauna, steam room, relaxation lounge, and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the river and mountains. This evening, savour a seasonal three-course dinner back at The Barn.

    After breakfast and check-out, you'll be transferred to Trollstigen - Norway’s iconic Troll’s Path - one of the country’s 18 National Scenic Routes, renowned for its dramatic switchbacks and panoramic views over the Åndalsnes mountains. Enjoy a short walk with your guide to the viewpoints and lunch nearby, before continuing on to Ålesund for a one-night stay at the waterfront Hotel Brosundet. Spend the afternoon exploring this picturesque coastal town at your leisure. In the evening, take your pick from the hotel’s two acclaimed restaurants - Sjøbua for fine-dining seafood or Apotekergata No. 5 for a relaxed brasserie setting - or head into town to discover a local favourite; the night is yours to enjoy.

    Day 10

    Enjoy your final morning in Ålesund with a relaxed buffet-style breakfast before checking out. Today you’ll fly north to Leknes in the Lofoten Islands, where a private transfer will take you to Nusfjord Arctic Resort, your home for the next four nights. Depending on your arrival time, spend the afternoon exploring Nusfjord - one of Norway’s oldest and best-preserved fishing villages. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner at Restaurant Karoline, showcasing locally sourced ingredients and regional flavours.

    Day 11

    Begin your day with a generous breakfast buffet at Restaurant Karoline before meeting your private guide for a transfer to the southern tip of Lofoten. From here, set off on a scenic hike to a panoramic viewpoint of the surrounding mountains and sea, before descending to the golden sands and turquoise waters of Kvalvika Beach, only accessible by foot or boat. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, this remote beach offers a truly breathtaking setting for your packed lunch. Later, return to Nusfjord for a relaxing afternoon, perhaps unwinding in the Wellness Spa’s wood-fired hot tub and sauna, before enjoying a three-course dinner this evening.

    Day 12

    After breakfast, you’ll be met by your private guide for a transfer to the renowned Reine region, where your adventure begins with a challenging hike up Reinebringen—a steep 1.5-kilometre trail with over 450 metres of elevation gain. The climb is rewarded with sweeping views over the village of Reine, the surrounding fjords, and dramatic mountain peaks. After descending, take time to explore the charming village before heading to nearby Sakrisøya for a seafood lunch at Anita’s, famed for its locally caught delicacies and scenic fjord setting. Return to Nusfjord Arctic Resort for a well-earned rest in the sauna or hot tub, followed by a traditional Norwegian dinner.

    Day 13

    Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace - relax and unwind or take advantage of the many activities available at Nusfjord, including kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, an easy walk to the nearby Nesland fishing village, or joining a fishing or RIB boat tour. This evening, dinner is served at Restaurant Karoline.

    Enjoy a final leisurely breakfast at Nusfjord, before checking out and transferring to Leknes Airport for your onward journey.
