Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival in Bergen, you’ll be met for a private transfer to Opus XVI, a boutique hotel in the heart of the city where you’ll stay for the next two nights. Spend a relaxed afternoon exploring Bergen on foot, with the UNESCO World Heritage-listed harbour, Bryggen, just moments from your doorstep. This evening, we recommend dining at the renowned Frescohallen at Bergen Børs, located just across the street.

Day 2

After a buffet breakfast at Opus XVI, meet your private guide for a scenic walking tour of two of Bergen’s iconic peaks - Mount Fløyen and Mount Rundemanen. Begin with a ride on the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen, where panoramic views over Bergen await. From here, walk by the idyllic Skomakerdiket Lake and continue on to Mount Rundemanen. Enjoy lunch at the Fløyen café before descending on foot or taking the funicular back down. This evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner at the hotel or opt for a memorable seafood experience at Cornelius, a renowned restaurant on its own private island.

Day 3

This morning after breakfast, make your way to Bergen Station for a scenic rail journey to Flåm. Travel first to Myrdal before boarding the iconic Flåmsbana, one of the world’s most beautiful train rides, descending from the high mountains to the Aurlandsfjord past waterfalls, steep valleys, and remote farms. On arrival in Flåm, meet your private guide for a transfer via the panoramic Stegastein viewpoint to your next stay, 292 Aurland. This afternoon, enjoy a half-day guided hike in the Aurlandsdalen Valley - one of Norway’s finest hikes - featuring swinging bridges, waterfalls, and sweeping views down to the fjord. A packed lunch will be enjoyed on the trail, and this evening, return to the hotel for a three-course dinner crafted with local produce.

Day 4

After a generous buffet breakfast, meet your private guide and travel to the quiet village of Bakka on the Nærøyfjord. From here, board a traditional rowing boat for a tranquil crossing before hiking a section of the historic Royal Postal Route - once a mail trail connecting remote fjord-side villages - towards Styvi. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way before returning to your hotel to unwind with a soak in the wood-fired hot tub or sauna, followed by cake and coffee in the lounge and a three-course dinner.

Day 5

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, with your morning free to spend as you wish - perhaps exploring Aurland by foot or bicycle, or soaking once more in the wood-fired hot tub and sauna. Lunch is included today at the on-site Restaurant Ete, before your transfer to the jetty for a scenic cruise through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, renowned for its towering cliffs and tranquil waters. Continue along the Sognefjord before arriving in Bergen, where you'll be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
