Located on Tasmania’s western side, about halfway between Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair, Donaghy’s Lookout Walk offers stunning views of the Franklin River Valley and Frenchman’s Cap. This short 3 km walk followed a well-marked path that gradually ascends to a heath covered hill with a timber lookout at the top perched above the Franklin and Collingwood Rivers. The trail passes through cool temperate rainforest characterised by moss and lichens that thrives in the cool, damp conditions under the tree canopy covering much of the track.
