Day 2

Wake to views of the mountains and enjoy breakfast in the Homestead. Your private guide and driver will collect you from your accommodation mid-morning for a scenic drive into Mount Aspiring National Park. You'll be led on a four hour walk today along the Rob Roy Glacier Track, which follows the beautiful Matukituki Valley into the National Park; a place of mountains, glaciers, rivers and alpine lakes. The track follows Rob Roy Stream through beech forest and past waterfalls, ferns and a moss-lined trail before the forest gives way to spectacular alpine views of the hanging glaciers beneath Mount Rob Roy. The glaciers are active and can be viewed from the safety of the trail viewing point where you can watch and listen for avalanches and carvings. Enjoy a picnic lunch with your guide before returning to your accommodation late afternoon. A soak in your copper bath tub may be in order before another locally inspired dinner in the Homestead.

Day 3

You'll be eager to start this morning with an exploration into Mt Cook National Park and helicopter experience planned today. Your guide will meet you after breakfast for a scenic drive across MacKenzie country into Aoraki-Mt Cook valley and National Park. On arrival you will have the chance to stretch your legs on the Hooker Valley Track, a three hour return walk past glacier fed rivers to Hooker Lake with constant views of Mt Cook (New Zealand's highest peak). After your walk, your guide will lead you to the waiting helicopter for your private flight to the Lindis. You'll enjoy spectacular views as your pilot flies over Mt Cook before tracking toward the Ahuriri Valley on the way to your accommodation. Tonight settle into your unique mirrored ecopod and enjoy a dip in the hot tub on your deck. Pre-dinner canapes and drinks await before dinner in the impressive dining room overlooking the valley.

Day 4

After waking to panoramic valley views from your pod, stroll to the main lodge for breakfast this morning. Your guide will meet you a bit later for a scenic drive taking you further into the valley, where you will commence the Canyon Creek walk. This full day guided hike is moderately challenging rising steadily through beech forest to an impressive view into the canyon. You'll enjoy a trail lunch and perhaps a quick dip if you choose to brave the icy river before returning to the lodge late this afternoon. This evening enjoy drinks and dinner in the Great dining hall, before another spa experience under the stars.

Day 5

This morning there is time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a short stroll around Lake Lindis (30 minutes) or walk to Ben Avon Saddle (1.5 hours), both of which are accessed on foot from the lodge. Other activity options this morning (at additional cost) include an e-bike ride or horse trail ride along the river and valley trails, with an onsite stables providing easy access to the most beautiful horses. Late morning your driver will collect you for the two hour transfer back to Queenstown, stopping along the way at one of Bannockburn's great vineyards for a private tasting of Central Otago famous pinot; a fitting toast to your South Island adventure.
