Discover the extraordinary Kimberley coast on this once-in-a-lifetime sailing adventure aboard luxury catamaran Eclipse. Experience icons of the Kimberley such as Montgomery Reef, the Horizontal Falls and Kings Cascade up close, with guided expeditions to remote sites only a fortunate few get the opportunity to visit. You'll spend seven nights in luxury onboard the Australian-built Eclipse in an elegantly appointed queen ensuite stateroom, with all chef-prepared gourmet meals and a pre-dinner cocktail included. With only eight guests and three crew members on board, this is a truly exceptional way to explore the Kimberley, culminating with a scenic helicopter flight over the Donkin and Mitchell Falls.

Location & Access

The cruise commences in Cygnet Bay (near Broome), with guests disembarking at Hunter River before a scenic heli flight over the Mitchell Plateau. Private road and air transfers are included to and from Broome as per the itinerary. This journey is also available in the reverse direction. Direct flights to Broome are available from Kununurra, Darwin, Perth and some capital cities in Australia.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Cygnet Bay - welcome aboard

You'll be collected in Broome for a private transfer to Cygnet Bay where you'll enjoy lunch at the Cygnet Bay Pearl farm. It's then time to board your private vessel, “Eclipse” from 2pm for a 3pm departure. Enjoy a sunset cruise through the Buccaneer Archipelago accompanied by cocktails and canapes. Dinner will be served shortly after sunset while cruising to your first beautiful anchorage spot.

Day 2: Horizontal Falls - Buccaneer Archipelago

The southern heart of the Kimberley is characterised by blue water, endless islands and spectacular reef and tidal systems. Experience the immense power of the Horizontal Falls as you travel through this extraordinary geological phenomenon. With its powdery white sand and pristine waters, Silica Beach is one of the North West's finest beaches. Enjoy a swim, or simply soak up the sun, before jumping back on board for the journey to nearby Crocodile Creek where you'll discover walking trails canopied by the rainforest and a hidden waterfall oasis. Cruise past Cockatoo and Koolan Island and ease into the evening with a refreshing drink on the rooftop lounge followed by another beautiful gourmet dinner.

Day 3: Raft Point - Montgomery Reef

Wake up at the picturesque Raft Point anchorage and make the most of the area's great fishing, cultural tours and scenic walks. It's then time to prepare for another Kimberley icon, sailing over brunch to Montgomery Reef. Described as the eighth wonder of the world, this unique ecosystem and tidal phenomenon is made up of 400 square kilometres of coral reef emerging out of the ocean, forming countless waterfalls, gorges of cascading reefs and a concentrated marine life hotspot. The afternoon's activities are up to you, with options including fishing, sunset beach drinks and onshore walks to explore this ancient area.

Day 4: Doubtful Bay - Ruby Falls

Today's itinerary will be determined by the tide in this diverse region of the Kimberley where five exquisite river systems all converge into the protected Doubtful Bay. Enjoy private access to the beautiful waterfalls of the Sale River and Red Cone Creek, cast a line for the elusive Barramundi or Golden Snapper, and cool off with a relaxing soak in your own private billabong.

Day 5: Camden Sound

Lalang-garram/Camden Sound Marine Park's sheltered waters are home to a diverse range of marine life, including turtles, octopuses, reef sharks, dugongs, manta rays and dolphins. As the first (but short-lived) attempt at European settlement in the Kimberley, the picturesque Camden Harbour is also steeped in history. Tide permitting, you’ll enjoy access to fresh Kimberley rock oysters, followed by some private beach combing or exploring the area's historic trails. Keen anglers will love the great reef fishing opportunities, surrounded by beautiful scenery before setting sail again in the afternoon.

Day 6: Kings Cascade - Prince Regent River

Today begins with a stunning cruise past Mt Trafalgar and Mt Waterloo into the mouth of the stunning Prince Regent River, which is surrounded by near-vertical 50-metre-high cliffs, terraced waterfalls and ancient rock formations. Stopping at the famous Kings Cascades terraced waterfall, experience a refreshing natural shower on the bow of Eclipse. You’ll then trek to the beautiful Camp Creek waterfall for an afternoon of creek fishing or exploring more waterfalls and ancient rock art of this prehistoric environment.

Day 7: Hunter River

Behold the mighty Hunter River, where rainforest-encrusted mountains and lush mangroves offer spectacular scenery around this calm waterway. The region is alive with wildlife and provides spectacular fishing, mud crabbing and bird-watching opportunities. Today you have the option to join a challenging waterfall hike to Jackson Falls. Your final evening begins with relaxing sunset drinks on a secluded beach while enjoying the serenity of one of the Kimberley’s best anchorages.

Day 8: Mitchell Plateau to Broome

Wake up in time to experience more of the stunning Hunter River before disembarking Eclipse this morning. However, the adventure does not stop here. Experience the remoteness of the spectacular Mitchell Plateau with a private helicopter flight over Donkin Falls and the renowned Mitchell Falls before heading back to Broome on a private charter flight.
