This full day discovery encompasses the life and soul of Kangaroo Island, combining a range of wildlife encounters with north and south coast landscapes.
A day full of meeting the wildlife that calls Kangaroo Island 'home'. Amble down country tracks through tall Eucalyptus trees where koalas snooze overhead or wake briefly for a feed. Listen to nature's calls in the bush – brightly coloured honeyeaters and brilliant parrots, cicadas or perhaps just the sound of silence. You can hope to spot small wallabies, which are almost extinct on the mainland, a kangaroo found only on Kangaroo Island and a variety of other birds, plants and animals.
Enjoy a barbecue lunch in a private bush camp before heading to Seal Bay Conservation Park. Your guide will take you on a private tour among Australian sea-lions on a beautiful sandy beach – an experience similar to that of the Galapagos. Watch pups nursing or playing in the surf, see old bulls bearing the scars of territorial disputes and learn about their unique breeding biology.
Four weekly departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Small group experience of 10 guests maximum (or private on request).
Pickup and drop off to select Kangaroo Island accommodation.
