Days 2-7: Southern Kimberley Coast

A truly bespoke journey, there is no predetermined itinerary nor schedule to follow. Your sailing expedition will feature many highlights of the Kimberley Coast, including:

• The Lacepede Islands - home to the world’s largest breeding colony of Brown Boobies and Western Australia’s most important breeding habitat for Green Turtles
• Cape Leveque - best known for its pristine white sand beaches and golden red sandstone cliffs
• Buccaneer Archipelago – featuring 800 islands, explore secluded white sandy beaches, historical pearling locations and remarkable geological scenery
• Montgomery Reef and the Horizontal Falls - described by Sir David Attenborough as “One of the greatest wonders of the natural world”
• Outdoor rock art galleries including Wijingarra Bard Bard, which provide an insight into the remarkable history and culture of Australia’s First Nations People
• Doubtful Bay - a gateway to multiple river systems lined with mangroves which are ideal for spotting crocodiles and an abundance of birdlife

At any time you are welcome to join the expedition team for further exploration of remote sites on a Zodiac® or relax onboard.

Day 8: Le Ponant disembarkation in Kuri Bay and Kununurra

After an exceptional journey along the Southern Kimberley Coast, you'll farewell the crew and disembark Le Ponant at 7.00 am in Kuri Bay, the location of Australia's first cultured pearl farm. Named after the company's first principal, Tokuichi Kuribayashi, it is now the home of Paspaley, the world’s most important producer of cultured pearls. Enjoy a private tour of the Paspaley Pearl Farm before ending your expedition in style with a spectacular scenic flight over the Kimberley landscape aboard a Paspaley Grumman Mallard amphibious aircraft between Kuri Bay and Kununurra.
